I've been in the pacific northwest since day one; I was born and raised in Washington state. Outside of engineering, most of my free time goes to being outside with people I care about: skiing in the winter, camping in the summer, pickleball whenever the weather allows, and rock hounding with my partner of five years. I also make music and try to get to as many concerts as I can. More than anything, I love to travel and see the beauty this planet has to offer. At home, I've got three cats who I'm convinced are the cutest cats in the world.
I've been taking things apart since I was a kid, not to break them, just to see how they worked. That habit of solving problems with whatever was on hand followed me long before I connected it to a career. I always planned on going to college. I just hadn't landed on what to study, until someone close to me pointed out how naturally I solved problems, and it clicked. The moment that pointed me specifically toward controls and robotics was hearing the tactical mission lead for the Curiosity and Perseverance rovers describe what it actually takes to operate a rover on another planet. It nearly moved me to tears, and I've been chasing this goal ever since.

I care about the people around me, and I put real effort into making sure everyone I'm around feels comfortable. I'm a hard worker, and my attention to detail helps me get things right the first time. The people close to me would probably describe me as passionate, friendly, funny, and reliable — the kind of person who checks in and shows up when it matters.
I work well with others, and I'm always willing to admit someone else's idea might be better than mine. I think collaboration is what actually drives growth: when you teach someone something, you end up understanding it better yourself too.
